Website Privacy Policy
Citizens Mediation Service (CMS) values the privacy of those who visit our site or send us contact and/or financial information. This privacy policy seeks to make our commitment to the privacy of our website users clear and transparent. It explains what types of information is collected by the Citizens Mediation Service website and how this information is used.
What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected?
Persons who sign up to received CMS’ quarterly newsletter, register for a training class, pay a bill, or transfer in mediation credentials acquired elsewhere voluntarily give us identifiable contact personal information (such as name, e-mail address, phone number, etc.). We may use this information for specific, limited purposes, including a criminal background check required by the State Court Administrative Office prior to volunteering with the Center. You may always “opt out,” either now or at any time in the future, if you do not wish to receive our messages. You may also rescind your permission to conduct background checks (which are conducted every three years), however doing so will eliminate the possibility of serving as a volunteer mediator.
IP addresses
Citizens Mediation Service uses IP addresses for statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic. The Center uses Google Analytics for this purpose.
How Your Information May Be Used
We use your personal information to send e-mail to you; to answer your requests; to process your membership application; to process your payments, etc. You may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communications from us. We may also use your information to track the features of our website which are most popular so we can target information to website users more closely. It also lets us provide aggregate data about our traffic (not identifying you personally, but showing how many visitors used which features, for example) to outside parties.
Email Privacy
Citizens Mediation Service does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone outside the organization.
External Links
www.CitizensMediation.org includes links to external websites. These links do not fall under the CMS domain, and the Center is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of external websites. Your use of any linked website is solely at your own risk.
Modifications
We may amend this privacy policy from time to time; please review it periodically. We maintain the option to modify this privacy policy at any time by electronic notice posted on our website. Your continued use of our website after the date that such notices are posted will be deemed to be your agreement to the changed terms.
