What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected?
Persons who sign up to received CMS’ quarterly newsletter, register for a training class, pay a bill, or transfer in mediation credentials acquired elsewhere voluntarily give us identifiable contact personal information (such as name, e-mail address, phone number, etc.). We may use this information for specific, limited purposes, including a criminal background check required by the State Court Administrative Office prior to volunteering with the Center. You may always "opt out," either now or at any time in the future, if you do not wish to receive our messages. You may also rescind your permission to conduct background checks (which are conducted every three years), however doing so will eliminate the possibility of serving as a volunteer mediator.
Citizens Mediation Service uses IP addresses for statistical metrics used to track website visitor traffic. The Center uses Google Analytics for this purpose.
How Your Information May Be Used
We use your personal information to send e-mail to you; to answer your requests; to process your membership application; to process your payments, etc. You may choose to opt out at any time, which will cease all communications from us. We may also use your information to track the features of our website which are most popular so we can target information to website users more closely. It also lets us provide aggregate data about our traffic (not identifying you personally, but showing how many visitors used which features, for example) to outside parties.
Citizens Mediation Service does not provide, sell, or rent email addresses to anyone outside the organization.
